Cottage Gardens ...

I love gardening ... with our precious water resource it is important to grow things that need little water unless you are going to eat it .... A challenge .... Seed Saving is the big word ... lucky we had people who cared enough & have been saving seeds for yrs ... we should be very grateful.

A fantastic outdoor shower every home should have especially if you live by the Beach.

My goal is to try very hard to Grow our own Food .... fingers crossed.

And then to create a place of Magic ....

"If you have a Garden & a Library you have everything you need"

Airing of the Quilt, Boddington 2012.

I do love Patchwork Quilts ... it is very clever & some are amazing works of Art.

History of Quilting dates back as far as Ancient Egypt. Russia holds the oldest example in existance. It was introduced into Europe by Crusaders around the 12th Century. There is a story told that in the late 1800's in America Quilts were used as messages to Slaves who were on the flight to Freedom eg: if a log cabin quilt was hung on the line it was a safe house. Then with the Industrial Revolution this bought a dramatic change in Textiles & Manufacturing. So it is wonderful to see that Quilting is still Alive & Well .... was a wonderful day. Enjoy ....

Red Doors ....

Thinking of painting the Front Door Red .... Feng Shui - the front door is said to be the "Mouth of Chi" where vital energy enters & exits your home. It is where you leave the outside world behind & enter your inner world. Be sure to use your front door so positive Chi can enter your home. Our front door is south facing : A South Facing door welcomes in strong Yang Energy .... & apparently I need to paint it Pink, Peach, Apricot, Orange or Yellow. Red is considered to strong .... Bugger I so wanted Red???

Oh well here are a few Red Doors I was eyeing off .....
